IC Curriculum Development (See IDA)
The certified staff shall develop cooperatively an integrated, comprehensive K-12 curriculum. The curriculum shall be based on valid educational research and current State Board of Education requirements. It should reflect national standards for academic excellence and the body of knowledge accepted by acknowledged experts in each subject area. The staff shall use educational goals and learning objectives approved by the board of education as the basis for developing and implementing curriculum.
Review and Modification
The superintendent shall develop, and the board will approve, a schedule for periodic curriculum review on a systematic basis. (See IJ) The board will approve all additions, deletions or major alterations to a course of study.
Personnel
Outside resource and district personnel may be used in curriculum development. (See BBG)
Financial Resources
The superintendent may secure federal, state and private grants, or other alternative funding sources for use in curriculum development.
